IDAHOME

Hi everyone! Short blog for today – Pete and I spent most of our day around Orofino. It’s hard to say that I’ve lived in the valley for 9 years but have never been to Orofino until now. For those of you who don’t live in the LC Valley, Orofino is about 41 miles from where I live.

It was one of the first clear and beautiful days in a while so we decided to take advantage of it. It’s been awhile since the air quality has been nice due to all the wildfires so it was so refreshing to able to breathe in fresh air!

Our first stop was at Dworshak Dam. The dam is in Ahsahka which is literally about 5 or 6 miles from Orofino. It’s about a 10 to 15 minutes drive to the top of the viewing point. The visitor center was closed so we couldn’t really get any closer to the dam but we still got an alright view from the viewpoint.

Here are some pics I took of the Clearwater River and Pete flying the drone.P1420043

P1420060P1420049A common misconception about Idaho is that there’s nothing here except for potatoes. If anyone actually spends some time to travel through Idaho you’d realize that there’s so much to see!

There’s many parts of the state that are raw, untouched, and natural. Personally, I love all the trees. But seriously, it’s beautiful in Idaho.

When I moved to the valley from California, I really wasn’t happy about it. 9 years later and this place has grown on me so much that I have no shame in calling Idaho my home!
